Azza’s Blog

In week 8 and 9 our class has been working with percentages and division.I think percentages are not the funnest math problems but they are a good skill to learn. Division is pretty hard at first especially if its long division but it is easy after a while and I need a bit more practice but I’m getting better at it and I’m still learning how to properly use long division is well. Maths is not a strong point of mine but I still enjoy it and if you learn your times tables it makes a whole lot better.

On the 23rd of June athletes representing the Power Community Youth  Program came to visit. Today the topic was on smoking and we discussed how smoking is dangerous and what chemicals are in them. Did you know that one of the chemicals was Arsenic which is found in rat poison!!!! Matt Thomas, Wade Thompson, Jonathon Giles and Moronia Gerrard (Thunder bird netballer) are in the Power Community Youth Group. They come every two weeks to educate us on different topics. I got out of the talk that cigarettes have over four thousand chemicals and are very addictive.

For our Maths we had to complete this sheet that was to do with Tessellations. After we finished  the Tessellation part of the sheet we went onto the Internet and looked up Tessellation pattern art and we found a site that let us create our pattern on it but we used the site to design our pattern. It was a fun activity to do and everyone enjoyed it.

This is my tessellation pattern that I designed.

For our Inquiry unit this term “why is this happening”  we have made a booklet about the river Murray. The booklet has text,diagrams and a glossary just like every other information text. It was good fun because we made a cover for the booklet and made it our selves. We learned alot about the Murray river and words that relate to it.I learnt that the river is drying up and that we need to save it.

In week 1 term 2 on the 29th of April L.A.21 and L.A.20 went on a camp at Hindmarsh Island. The camp had activities like Rope bridges, Problem solving were you had to certain activities,Fishing, G.S.O walk were you went on a walk and you got showed different things like trees leave me a comment if you know what G.S.O means,raft making,Boogie boarding (my favourite activity because the waves were so BIG !! ) and in door activities. Every one that went on camp enjoyed the activities.

I have chosen this quote about leadership because it is a good example of what leadership really is. This quote means that leadership is built strong and will last for ever. A leadership built on bossiness and selfishness will not last for ever or for that long really. For example I remember when I was a junior primary kid I had very little confidence in me and I didn’t lead I followed  others and now I’m working to get my confidence back and on my way to leadership.

ARE LEADERS MADE OR BORN ?

I think leaders are made not born because you need to gain the skills to be a leader like learning how to be a servant leader. Why I chose this is because I was not born a leader because I was not confident and now im working on my confidence and now im on my way to be a leader.So thats why I think that leaders are made and that why they are not born.What do you think leave a comment with you reason for what you think.

This is our week 9 Quote and I agree with it because it means that you cant have a friend if you dislike them so you need to be a friend with someone so they are your friend. That way if your them as your friend.

1. The AV-8 Harrier is one of my most favourite jets because it can hover and it looks great.

I have spent the last 6 weeks on holidays. It has been so fun and christmas was great I got lots of toys.Now im in L.A.21 and its a year 7 class now all my friends are in my class. floppy,langer,cain08 and more are in my class.
